AL GARHOUD Dubai 2025
A context sensitive design for a timeless garden that aims to reflect the commissioning couple’s world, their family life, and to honour the garden and family’s first nurturers and custodians – their late parents.
An inviting textured sanctuary responds to the house’s architecture, whilst obscuring the neighbours, creating a world apart within the property’s walls. Referencing abstract art, both wild and agricultural topographies, and to create levels of planting without detracting from a generosity of open space, we designed a terraced garden within the garden, spanning the length of the site. This feature lifts the garden up, creating elevated perches and cadence in the garden, the sculpture and canopies of trees provide beautiful screening and lush views from the first floor of the house.
